Men vs. Women in the showers

So I've come up with a theory, and I'm hoping that someone out there can help me to prove/disprove this little nugget of useless information that I have come up with.

When I get into the shower, I automatically turn to face away from the flow of water, so that it's hitting my back. I shampoo, I condition, I soap up, wash my face and turn the shower off. It has recently come to my attention that most men seem to face the shower head; to shampoo and soap, and I'm trying to figure out why. Kyle and I were watching a movie last night where a man did this, and I realized that I have never actually seen a man turn his back to the water.

Can you help me out here? I know its completely uninteresting, but I need to know if my theory is correct...

On the contrary - very interesting - and true, I think.

Coincidentally, last night was out with a group of people and we discovered a gendered use of toilet paper. Ask your friends: women scrunch TP before using it, while men (almost) universally fold.

I already helped prove her point during the movie, but for the record i scrunch the toiler paper.

Confirmed.... I stand facing the spray.

I also fold. But this crunching nadine mentioned has piqued my curiousity.

Man, what passes for entertainment these days.

Welcome back,

OK, just a theory here, do woman stand with their backs to the shower so the spray doesn't get in our faces? because men are usually taller, the spray would hit their chests not their face.

and who has time to fold?

Transversely, I fold and then scrunch..Im not sure why that is but Nadine, I believe you make a good point here..

I like Anne's theory - well thought-out. That's some lateral thinking for you.

For the record, I get in the shower facing the spray, but wash my hair facing away...probably a habit left over from when I had stupidly long hair, and therefore couldn't really wash it with it hanging in my face.

As for the TP, I fold it into little paper cranes.

I definitely scrunch.
As for the shower..I do itget in backwards because I like the massage-esque feeling to my shower..which shoots out the water so hard, I should invite people over and charge them for the experience. I swear it leaves scars!
I practically need one of those handles to hold onto to ensure I don't get pushed right out.

I happened upon...

Tali, how much would you charge?

I face the shower. I am 6'5'' thus facing away I would never get my head wet without a painful backbend...

Girls scrunch b/c they pat, most of the time and boys fold b/c they don't... #1 vs. #2 thing!?

ok, Cin and I are discussing... Do you pat or wipe after #1? she says scrunching is better protection. I disagree? Hmmm. this is taking on a life of it's own... Way to go JP!

Quite the discussion we've created here. I'm proud, I can't lie.
